Job Description
Shift Leaders keep the daily operations of our organization flowing smoothly. The Shift Leader is much like a manager . The Shift Leader reports to the General Manager and Manager and acts as a front-line extension of the managers authority. A Shift Leader is responsible for ensuring that Associates are present and the work is completed on time. The Shift Leader provides support, and direction to the restaurant team. Shift Leaders do not establish policy but are expected offer feedback on policies and procedures to improve stakeholder satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership through example. Show enthusiasm and energy. Follow proper procedures. Be a communication expert both to the Associates and to the Managers. Practice professionalism: with Guests, in appearance, through communication and mannerisms. Earn respect buy being respectful. Have a plan. Be organized, set shift objectives; make notes to communicate objectives as well as progress with the management team. Be ethical; know what is not tolerated of Associate actions. Understand your limitations for disciplining your Associates. Be confident knowing of you are supported by Managers and Partners. Use commonsense decision making, how will this decision affect the business, Guests and Associates? Be an Ambassador to our Guests. Promote our Associates and business. Work on your own personal growth. Learn other Associates responsibilities and improve your own management skills. Review this list first thing at the beginning of your day and last thing before you go home and ask yourself, what am I going to do today? What have I accomplished this shift? Make sure you share your success with your management team.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Always remember we own an Associate First culture and strive for Enlightened Hospitality. Lead as you would want to be lead. If you desire to advance in OPH, then keep the lines of communication open with your General Manager. Our goal is to have you grow both professionally and personally. Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
